Full Disclosure - There is not a picture of Jackson contained in this post, nor is the post about him. Even so I hope you still read through this.
A guy I work with sent it to me. I guess he thought I would like it? And I guess he got that idea from hearing my rants about government spending and how I am now a Libertarian? Well of course he was right and I LOVE it!
Put Me In Charge By Alfred W. Evans Waco Tribune Herald
November 18, 2010-- Put me in charge of food stamps. I'd get rid of Lone Star cards; no cash for Ding Dongs or Ho Ho's, just money for 50-pound bags of rice and beans, blocks of cheese and all the powdered milk you can haul away. If you want steak and frozen pizza, then get a job.
Put me in charge of Medicaid. The first thing I'd do is to get women Norplant birth control implants or tubal ligations. Then, we'll test recipients for drugs, alcohol, nicotine and document all tattoos and piercings. If you want to reproduce or use drugs, alcohol, smoke or get tats and piercings, then get a job.
Put me in charge of government housing. Ever live in a military barracks? You will maintain our property in a clean and good state of repair. Your "home" will be subject to inspections anytime and possessions will be inventoried. If you want a plasma TV or Xbox 360, then get a job and your own place.
In addition, you will either present a check stub from a job each week or you will report to a "government" job. It may be cleaning the roadways of trash, painting and repairing public housing, whatever we find for you. We will sell your 22 inch rims and low profile tires and your blasting stereo and speakers and put that money toward the "common good."
Before you write that I've violated someone's rights, realize that all of the above is voluntary. You have to choose to apply for welfare. If you want our money, accept our rules. Before you say that this would be "demeaning" and ruin someone's "self-esteem," consider that it wasn't that long ago that taking someone else's money for doing absolutely nothing was demeaning and lowered self esteem.
If we are expected to pay for other people's mistakes we should at least attempt to make them learn from their bad choices. The current system rewards them for continuing to make mistakes and bad choices. AND while you are on Government subsistence, you no longer can VOTE! Yes, that is correct. For you to vote would be a conflict of interest. You will voluntarily remove yourself from the voting rolls while you are receiving a Government welfare check. If you want to vote, then get a job.

Fratty Friday
J-Man was SO happy this morning! I would not have guessed this since I had to pick him up from day care yesterday because they said he was running a fever. When we got him to the doctor he was not, but he does still have the same ear infection! One more and he gets tubes. It's almost like he has learned to live with an ear infection. He was a tad fussy yesterday, but SO happy this morning!
As a shout out to the royal wedding we sat his chair in front of fireplace and two candle sticks to make it look like his thrown!! :) I got up at 4:45 a.m. to watch the pomp and circumstance.
SO HAPPY!
Cheesing it up!

FAT
I was looking back at pictures and realized how fat Jackson was or put another way how skinny he is now. Look at this chunk! Both of these pictures were taken in October. I actually think they were both Fratty Friday pictures.
Now look at these pictures from April. He is a lean mean fighting machine. Not to mention looking less and less like a baby, but he just gets more and more fun! He laughs and has so much personality!I thought everyone would like the comparison as much as I did. From 4 months to 10 and a half months!

Keeping It Real Wednesday - Easter Weekend
So all of my Facebook peeps have these adorbale family pictures from Easter, but we did not get one because Jackson spit up on his adorable outfit AND shoes at breakfast. Thank goodness we went to breakfast AFTER church.
On Saturday we dyed some Easter eggs with the little man! He looks adorable of course, but I had been working in the yard all morning (looking pretty real in this pic)! He loved looking at the colors and wanted to stick his hand in all the cups.
The Easter bunny came to see us all! Even Elle and Knox!
The finished product.
And this is the reason I worked in the yard all day. We had a cover built over our patio and I am in LOVE with it! It turned out better than we could have even imagined.
Matt made a deal with the Easter bunny and they split my Easter gift. My new patio table and chairs!! It is my Easter/Mother's Day gift! The chairs bounce and they are amazing. They remind me of my Uncle Ronnie and Aunt Pat's house when I was little. I would sit in their chairs and bounce on my breaks from the pool. I will post another picture soon of the finished product because the columns have been stained, the trim painted, and Jackson's swing hung over to the right. We are also going to work on the grass and lack there of in our back yard. It is coming together and looking less and less like white trash every day! I have big dreams.
This is our front porch. We got new beams there too and I planted lots of colorful flowers. Even the Gardening Munchkin (my mom) would be proud.
I was a little hesitant about doing all of these exterior improvements, but water damage forced us to. When the work began I was kind of wishing I could get new kitchen appliances and counter tops, but the exterior upgrades are much better than an updated kitchen. After all, our appliances work, but our back poarch was being ruined by water. Oh the joys of home ownership and being an adult.

Video Tuesday
We went to Birmingham to visit Matt's grandparents' two weeks ago and Matt's cousin Grant took some really cute videos. They kept him for us while we went to Talladega and like I mentioned in an earlier post that they taught him how to do Patty Cake. So here they are.

Fratty Friday
Jackson is looking extra Fratty today in his fishing shirt! He is ready for his first Easter weekend. His Gran Dan and Sheshe are in town, we have a big Saturday of dying Easter eggs planned, and an even bigger Sunday planned! It looks like he plans to play a little golf today.
Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead...
1Peter 1:3
As you can see his nose is a little red because he is starting to fight a cold again. This poor little guy can't catch a break, but we started doping him up again last night with allergy medicine and musinex. He'll be on the mend soon!
Happy Friday!

J-Man's First Ole Miss Baseball Game
Ole Miss and State play each other in a mid-week game here in Jackson once a year. It is always in April and always nice to go out during the week to catch a little baseball. The hot dogs and beer are nice too.
We have made it a tradition since moving down here, but this year we took Jackson and it was his first baseball game! He loved it!! He was smiling at everyone and trying to take in as much as he could.
I only wish the Rebels had won, but the series against State in May is the one that really counts. Hopefully we can win the series.
Taking it all in! What a fun family outing even if we did lose.

He has become the drool monster lately. I think he is cutting more teeth! And in other growing up news, when I went to pick him up from day care on Tuesday they told me he let go while standing. He has been pulling up on everything and standing, but hangs on. Well, on Tuesday he decided to let go and and stand on his own TWICE. My big boy!!

Keeping It Real Wednesday
This post should really be called This and That Wednesday. However, Matt and I went to Talledaga this last weekend and that's pretty REAL! Here are Dale Jr. and Jimmy Johnson coming out of the pits. They were draft partners all day long. You gota love some Jr, but I could have lived without Jimmy Johnnon winning. I wish Jr had won because I wanted to see everyone go nuts! Oh well, at least Kyle Busch didn't win (he actually wrecked :)).
Our seats were at the start/finish line! We had a great view of the 3 wide finish! It was the best finish I have seen in a while.
Matt and me with our headsets! Listening to the drivers is so much fun!! They say the funniest things. Especially since they were drafting the entire race. They had to talk to each other a lot more than normal. The coolest part was how calm they were. Jeff Gordon sounded like someone needed to wake him up. It was right at the end when he was racing to win, going 200 mph all in a bunch and he sounded like he was just having a general conversation. Blows my mind. I wish you could see it, but Matt is wearing his Old Waverly golf shirt. We fit in so well!
I couldn't have a blog post without the star! J-Man stayed and Nana and Pop's while we went to the race. While we were gone they taught him how to do Patty Cake! He is so cute clapping his hands. He's a genuis.
And finally the forgotten children, Elle and Knox. They just got a haircut on Friday so they are a little bald. Bless their hearts they are not the center of attention any more, but they are so good with Jackson.
This picture is my favorite. He looks like he is talking to us at dinner. He is saying "Mom and Dad, why are you not taking me to the race tomorrow? You know I would love it."
I could EAT him up!!!!

10 Months Old
It is so hard for me to keep up with what all Jackson is doing at 10 months, but I will give it a shot.
Drinking out of a sipping cup most all of the time.
Hitting golf balls with his golf clubs and chasing down the ball only to hit it again.
Getting on to the pups - when they get in his face he waves his hand at them and yells gibberish
Can kind of wave bye bye and say it (we are working on it)
Still has his altered crawl on slick floors. He crawls normal on carpet.
Looking less like his father and more like just Jackson
I'm afraid he has a Dickerson personality. When he does not like something he throws his head back and screams. Scary, I know.
Still only has 2 little bottom teeth, but he is drooling a lot more so I think he is cutting more teeth.
Eats big people food when we break it up into small bite size pieces.
Does not like anything slimy in texture like bananas or pasta, but loves English muffins, Cheerios, and baby Cheetos.
He still eats like a horse. At night when we get home at 5:30 I will give him 3 tubs of Gerber crawler baby food since he eats so early and we don't eat dinner until 7. But he will eat whatever we are eating at 7:00 too! Mainly chicken and fish and then some veggies.
He is on whole milk.
Holds his own drink ALL the time.
Pulls up and stands
Thinks about taking steps, but decides against it and crawls
Nana and Papa taught him how to do patty cake this weekend. He just claps and claps! A.D.O.R.A.B.L.E
He will give you 5 on command
Still only says da-da, but doesn't know what it means. And for all of you out there that try to get him to say your name next, just know that if he says your name before he says ma-ma your visitation rights will be revoked. He has already broken my heart by saying da-da first AND only wanting a bottle so I would highly recommend you help him say ma-ma next. (ok, off my tangent now).
He is not as clingy any more. Thank goodness that only lasted a few weeks. He wants me when he is tired or sick, but he is back to going to whomever. It does feel good when he lays his little head down on me when he is sleepy!
Sleeping through the night again now that he is not sick any more. 7:30 to 6:00! It's the biggest blessing!
He loves looking outside.
His favorite toy is obviously his golf clubs.
He weighs 17 pounds and wears anything from a 6-18 month outfits.
Still loves music and loves to dance.
He is the most handsome and happy little boy. He is so loved and such a blessing to everyone. I want to keep him this age forever, but can't wait to see what God has in store for him.

Fratty Friday
Long time no post! I am not sure where the time has gone because we are not any busier than usual, but we just have not been snapping pictures like we usually do. The J-Man is feeling MUCH better and has his appetite back! Last night he ate 3 tubs of crawler baby food, 2 hand fulls of puffs, AND 6 ounces of juice. I think he was hungry.
So enough with the catch up and on to what everyone wants to see. This Fratty Friday is probably the frattiest of all. Why you ask? Well, take a closer look at that polo J-Man is sporting. Yup, it's a Masters polo. It doesn't get frattier than that. Or as Uncle Buster would say "he's a frat star."
Matt has always been obsessed with golf and The Masters, but this year I learned a lot more about it, like you can only buy Masters apparel during the one week of The Masters AND you can't just buy tickets. You are placed in a lottery and if you are selected they are your tickets for life if you choose to keep them, but who wouldn't choose to keep them?
And for the record Matt and I don't even own any Masters apparel!!! I am however going to put our name in the lottery because I think going to the Masters is the ONLY thing on my husband’s bucket list. He wants to go SO bad that he is seriously considering The Medical College of Georgia for his residency only because it is in Augusta, GA. REALLY? Oh yea. Is it a good program? He doesn't know or care I don't think. Anyway, Masters fever has subsided at our house for now, but the J-Man has the frattiest outfit of all due Masters fever that struck our house last week.
On a different topic, what sporting event is the polar opposite of the Masters? TALLADEGA!!! And we are going this weekend!! That's hysterical isn't it? It is so much fun to go, not to mention Matt's grandparents live in Birmingham and we can stay with them and visit! We are super excited to see them this weekend and they can't wait to get their hands on Jackson. Look for Dega pics next week! They are sure to be entertaining.

The Masters
Jackson was so excited about the Masters yesterday! He sported his golf outfit to church and played golf all day. I promise we are not prompting him to pick up his clubs, he does it all on his own!! He has a ton of toys in the floor, but always goes for the clubs. He leaves them all over the house and I told him yesterday that we were going to have to hire him a caddy to keep up with them!
Happy Monday!

Fratty Friday
This week has been a rough one around our house. Our little J-Man has been under the weather. We took him back to the doctor on Wednesday night because not only was he not getting better, he was getting worse. We got a shot, stronger antibiotics, eye drops, and medicine for breathing treatments. My poor little guy! But he is on the mend and even gave me a little smile this morning when he woke up. It has also been so hard to leave him while he is sick. It kills me to go to work, but I am so busy right now and I am just happy we have family that can help us and I know he is well taken care of.
He didn't wake up until I was leaving for work so I left his Sheshe with the IMPORTANT job of taking his Fratty Friday pictures.
It's a beautiful spring day and Jackson is going for a run since he is feeling better. He knows it's almost time for the beach and he needs to get into shape. So he's wearing his workout clothes and shoes ready for a jog around campus. And if he picks up a few chicks along the way, well, it's just another day in the life of The Most Handsome Man in the World. He can't help it!
Once he is back from running he is going to head to the golf course, as you can see by the photos he is getting his clubs ready to go to the course. Who needs class when you can play golf? Matt is hoping that these pictures of Jackson playing with his golf clubs will be shown on national TV while Jackson is a top the leader board at the Masters. And that the announcers can go on and on about how he showed an interest in golf even at an early age. I just want him to be a republican. The rest will fall into place.
