Fratty Friday

We have been hanging out at home since Wednesday and have had a great time!  I am glad my mom nor Mrs. Shelia could come stay with my little 'hand foot mouth' man!

He has been super happy during the day, but not so much at night in the wee hours of the morning.  He has woken up screaming the last 3 nights in a row.  Well, we discovered last night before bed he has 4 teeth coming in on the top all at once.  He'll have a 4 front teeth by his birthday!  Holy cow!  I am glad they are coming in at once so we can just get it out of the way.
I have been using teething tablets and Advil at night to help calm him down.  Of course Dr. Matt does not believe in the teething tablets since they are homeopathic, but every mom I know swears by them.  Mommy medicine over M.D. medicine!

I hope everyone has a great Memorial Day Weekend!  This will be the first time in 5 years that Matt and I have not been to Birmingham for the SEC tournament for our anniversary.  The good ole Rebels didn't make the tournament and Matt has a board on Tuesday.  So it is out to eat tomorrow to celebrate 6 wonderful years on Saturday and back to studying for him.  I am fine with that though because he is in his last year of medical school and this will be a distant memory soon enough.
Happy Friday

First Haircut

Jackson had his first haircut yesterday and he did so well!  He sat in my lap and didn't make a peep.  Although he looks like a big boy now and I don't know how happy I am about that.
The lady that cuts Matt's hair cut it for us at Lakeland Barber Shop.  I figured that would be better than taking him to my "salon."
We got some of his hair in a little envelope to keep forever.  Or until Matt and I die and our kids throw it away.
Look at that big boy haircut!!!

Keeping It Real Wednesday

Jackson has "hand foot mouth." I had never heard of it until I picked him up from daycare on Tuesday.  Apparently one of the other kids had it and gave it to him.  It starts out as little bumps like this on their hands, mouth, and feet and then starts to look like ant bites.  The good news is it doesn't it hurt or itch unless they have them in their mouth and thankfully he doesn't.  However, he is out of daycare until they clear up which is likely to be Tuesday.  So until then the two of us are hanging out at home.
Tuesday night he tried sneaking out of the house, but got caught!
The door was cracked so the dogs could come in and he opened it right up and took off outside.  This picture does not show it, but he started crawling on his his feet instead of his knees because the patio concrete hurt his little knees.
This is his mad at you face.  He makes it when you are trying to do something to him he does not like.  For example - changing his diaper or in this case taking pictures of his feet and hands to send to his Daddy.  He was letting me know he was not pleased.
Since I was home he helped me with a little house work like unloading the dishwasher.  Such a big helper!

Fratty Friday

It is redneck swap for J-Man.  He is sporting his Dale Jr shirt!
This is "I am so happy I could die" smile.  I LOVE it!
We got him this shirt when we went to Talledaga.  :)
Such a sweet little man!

Keeping It Real Wednesday

When I was little and still today, my dad picks on my mom for cleaning the house before she leaves it.  He says she's afraid Betty Crocker will come in and write her a messy house ticket while she is gone.  I use to prescribe to that thought process too and Matt picked on me, but then Jackson happen.

I took these with my phone so please excuse the quality.  Friday mornings are usually the most crazy day of the week since we have to squeeze a photo shoot in with our regular routine.  Not to mention Jackson is all over the place while I get ready.  But last Friday it was even crazier.  I usually clean everything up from our morning mayhem when I get home from work.  Well, last Friday Matt was on call and I went to the grocery store for the MONTH after I picked Jackson up.
So in addition to our usual mayhem I had groceries for the month, a hungry 11 month old, and single parent mayhem!
Work shoes in the middle of the floor and I didn't even change out of my work clothes until 7:30 when Jackson went to bed.
An unmade bed with an empty hanger discarded at the end and cups and bottle caps on the night stand.
Lastly the bathroom.  TP on the counter so Jackson would not rip it up, curlers not put away, and a left over milk bottle!

I do have to admit this was all cleaned and put away before I could sit down for the day.  I'm too OCD not to.

The real life of a busy family!  Happy Wednesday!

Video Tuesday

We are still working on mama.... The power went out for about an hour 2 Sundays ago so we decided it was a good time to work on saying Mama, it was Mother's Day after all. As you can tell by the video he was less than intersted.

11 Months Old

Our J-Man is 11 months old today and I cannot believe it!  He has grown up too fast.  He has such a wonderful little personality and is such a little trooper!  Matt and I have not missed a beat since he came along.  We still go out to eat, to baseball games, and travel.  We have the philosophy that we can live with Jackson and not for Jackson.  He needs to be a social butterfly and use to staying on the go.  We went to Oxford on Saturday and that is where we took these pictures.  Even though Oxford is the best place on earth it is always freezing there!  J-Man is dressed in a fleece jacket and toboggan in May!!!  We walked to the square for dinner and then to the baseball game.  It was J-Man's first baseball game at Swazye Field and he brought them luck!  They beat State 12 to 3.
Between dinner and the game we walked down the last block off University before campus.  That is where the house I want is.  We walked by it and day dreamed of what it would be like to live there.  Matt is sold on it because I told him we would not go to The Grove.  We would stay in our house and tailgate.  Everyone could stop in and hang out since it is so close to The Grove.  And the house across the street is the one my mom likes so we could take turns hosting tailgates in our houses.
So back to J-Man's 11 month birthday.  He woke up so happy this morning and grabbed Petie and Dougie before crawling over to me out of his bed.  He was all smiles all morning.  He was playing hard and talking up a storm.  We had a lot to talk about.  He can make all kinds of sounds with his mouth now and mimic you when you do them.  Of course he can give 5, play patty cake, and kind of blow a kiss.  He still loves Dougie and Petie, but mainly when he is sleepy.  He puts himself to sleep at night after I give him a bottle.
He still is not talking, but Matt and I are convinced that one day he is just going to look up at us and speak in complete sentences.  He knows what's going on, but just not sure how to verbalize it yet.  He still only has 2 teeth, but drools up a storm so he has to be cutting more teeth.  He never meets a stranger and will go to anyone that wants him which is pretty much everybody!  I can't take him to the grocery store, not because he is bad, but because we get stopped on every aisle with people telling me how cute he is.  And on that topic, when we were in the grocery store on Fratty Friday while Jackson was wearing his Ole Miss jersey an older man stopped us and told me how pretty my little girl was.  When I text Matt to tell him this, his response was we need to get him a hair cut.  We can blame it on his hair and smocked outfits, but I think the bottom line is that he is just pretty.  Plain and simple.
He knows to cheese it up when he sees a camera.  You pull a camera out and he immediately looks at it and smiles.  Lord help us.
I'm not sure what we were doing here, but I thought it was a funny.
He is eating pretty much anything we eat as long as it is not spicy, but is not a big fan of fresh strawberries or bananas, although he will eat strawberry and banana yogurt.  He LOVES club crackers.  But not a big fan of apple juice, he prefers mixed fruit juice.  His drink of choice is whole milk, he drinks about 25 ounces a day (sorry Dr. Freeman).  His pediatrician recommended we only give him 12 ounces a day because he does not want him to fill up on it and not eat.  Well, not eating is not a problem for this kid!  He eats plenty!  He is just a thirsty kid!
Look at that sweet face!  He still sleeps from 7:30 to 6:30 and I could not be happier.
Yeah!!  Go Rebels!!  He would clap when the crowd clapped!  I love him so much and love the little man he has become.  I don't want him to grow up, but I can't wait to see the man he becomes one day!  Happy 11 month birthday J-Man.  Only one more month until your birthday bash!

Fratty Friday

These are every picture I took of Jackson this morning!  They are all great!  He was so happy and I think it was because Matt wasn't home.
Let me explain further.  Every morning Matt leave the house late Jackson is terrible, but the mornings Matt leaves at 6:30 right after Jackson gets up he is fine.
I pick on Matt and tell him that it is because Jackson has him wrapped.  He pitches a fit so Matt will play with him or hold him.  I really think it is because he is use to it being just us in the mornings.  When it is just the two of us he knows it is go time and no time for mommy to play, but when we throw Matt into the mix it's party time!
I think it is funny to mess with Matt though since Jackson seems to have him wrapped.  Dad is the push over and Mama means business!
He looks so grown in his Uncle Jeremiah Masoli jersey!  So the story behind "Uncle" Jeremiah is that he asked for Aunt Corey's number so we affectionately refer to him as Uncle Jeremiah.
These are the faces Jackson makes when you say "I'm going to get you!"
I don't think I could love this little dude any more.  He is the cutest, sweetest, funniest little guy in the world!  And he is so full of personality.  My next post will be his 11 month old post on Monday.  I just can't believe it!!

My Body Drives the Ladies Wild

I have not had much to post so I thought I would at least post some of the pictures from my phone to satisfy the Grandmamas out there!  As I began to post them I realized Jackson liked to show off his body, it drives the ladies wild!!
This is from several months ago at swimming lessons.  I was trying to take a picture to send to Matt while we waited.  I can't keep the ladies off of him at swimming lessons!
We went out to eat one night and he decided it would be a good idea to pull his shirt up while he drank his bottle.  Again, all for the ladies!
Even at Gran's house he has to show off his pecks!
And random I know, but little J-Man sent me some flowers for Mother's Day!  He is so sweet and a genius to know how to order online at such a young age.  Sweet, good looking, and smart.  Oh my.

Happy Thursday!
