No More Strawberries!!

I took these pictures the same day I took the video.  Sorry for the poor color, my flash was not on.  He is such a mess and I will not be feeding him any more strawberries any time soon!

Keeping It Real Wednesday

Instead of taking two minutes to make our bed, I thought it would be more fun to download "We're going to Jackson" by Johhny Cash and June Carter Cash and then video our Jackson dancing to it for two minutes. It was a good decision, even if I say so myself.

Video Tuesday

Apparently Jackson loves the camera and the camera loves Jackson because I have 4 videos of him today for video Tuesday.  Enjoy!

Strawberries = 2 thumbs down

Please don't think I am a terrible mother when I laugh as he starts to cough. I knew he was not choking because he is a frequent gagger. He gets that from me. He gags all the time.

I'm No Dummie

I tried to pick out a sweeter strawberry for him to eat, but he was not having it. He had already tried two and he told me "lady, I am not putting another one of those things in my mouth. Give it up."

J-Man being J-Man

This was later in the day when he was sleepy, but refused to take a nap. I wanted to take a nap sooo bad!!

Finally Friday Take 1

This was Jackson first thing Friday morning when we realized he wanted to do a music video for Fratty Friday

Easter Bunny Pic

Please excuse the poor quality of this picture, but I took a picture of the picture so I could post it. J-Man didn't cry, but he was not 100% sure about the big white fluffy rabbit I was leaving him with. He is not looking at the camera, but with a 9 month old you pick your battles. Oh and you may notice that he is not wearing a smocked or cuties outfit. There are two reasons for this; (1) his father dressed him and (2) he is constantly being called a girl so I have taken steps to avoid that at all cost. However, I will say that his attire does not play much into being mistaken for a girl, sometimes he's in smocked outfits and sometimes he is wearing slacks, a button up shirt, and a TRUCK bib. What can I say, I have a pretty baby! Hoppy Easter!

Fratty Friday

Jackson's new love is for dance so we thought it would be a good idea to let him dance to a little George Jones! Happy Friday! Enjoy!

NOLA

So Barry and Macey got hitched in NOLA!  Macey and Matt are in the same med school class and Barry and I work together.  Barry is also cousins with one of my fellow Phi Mu sisters, Jennifer. We can't get away from them!
Say cheese.....
Wait, try again.  Laura A (who's fiance is named Matt) is soooo funny!  She is getting married on the beach in September.  I LOVE destination weddings.
The beautiful bride!  Macey looked amazing!  Her usual attire is scrubs so this was a very nice change.
All of these ladies will be doctors in one short year!  Crazy huh?  I have never seen a doctor that is this cute!  I love all of these girls.  They are the sweetest funniest group of people and keep us laughing.

Here is the crew minus the bride and groom!  We had SO much fun!
And what is a trip to NOLA without a cruise down Bourbon St?  If you were to bottle the smell of sin and debauchery it would smell like Bourbon St.  Laura A and I agreed we were sending our dresses to the cleaners twice when we got home.  G.R.O.S.S

This next section is Keeping It Real Wednesday........
This dude is drinking beer out of a urine container.  The med students noticed right off.  I noticed he was an Alabama fan, typical.  Roll Tide!
This chic is wearing a garbage back as a dress.  She looked in her closet and said "I have nothing to wear tonight."  I was unable to determine if she was an Alabama fan or not.

Happy Hump Day!

Video Tuesday

You can't hear it in the video, but there was this techno music playing in Newk's when we went out to eat last night and Jackson danced the entire time. He heard the beat and the music moved him. It is hysterical! He must get those moves from his Big R since Matt nor I can dance!

Fratty Friday

Today's Fratty Friday can be called Fratty Like Daddy!  Look at my handsome men!!  They are sporting blue shirts, khaki shorts, and grey tennis shoes!  And yes Jackson is wearing Polo socks, that is what grandmothers are for!
When I told Matt I wanted to take their picture together since they were both so fratty he told me he was not fratty any more.  He is getting old, but I told him not to worry, no one would be looking at him any way.  Him and I fade into the background of our little Frat Star!

We are headed to BR today to see Gran Dan and She-She.  They are keeping the little man for us when we head to NOLA tomorrow for Barry and Macey's wedding.  Macey is in Matt's class and Barry works with me!  They are a funny couple and we love hanging out with them!  I can't wait!  And Jackson can't wait to get to his She-She's!!  Pictures to follow!

9 Months Old

Shhh, listen to that sound.  What is that sound you ask?  It is me crying because Jackson is growing up too fast and in 3 short months he will be a year old.  Don't get me wrong, I love this stage, but it is just so hard to believe it has been 9 months already.  He is so much fun and makes us laugh on a regular basis, he also makes us want to pull our hair out some times too.
He is crawling every where and climbing on everything.  He does a modified crawl on slick surfaces to keep his balance and it looks so funny.  He crawls on one leg and balances with his foot on the other (kind of like what he is doing in the picture above).  But if you put him on thin carpet he can book it.
He loves playing in the floor, but not with his toys.  I don't think I have seen him play with his toys for more than ten minutes then he if off to get into something he is not suppose to like cords, the dogs' water bowl, or my purse.
He still watches his sign language DVD in the mornings, but he watches from his Jeep walker.  It's kind of like a drive in movie for him.
He has backed off 7 ounces to about 5 ounces of milk 5 times a day, eats 3 meals a day, and 2 snacks.  He is also drinking 5 ounces of juice a day.
He takes 3 naps a day.  2 hour long naps at 8:00 and 4:00 and a 2 hour nap at 11:00.
His night time sleep is iffy.  He still goes down at 7:30, but has started waking up about the time Matt and I go to bed and will not go back to sleep unless he is in our bed.  That habit has to change!!  We stayed firm last night and he actually slept until 4:30 in his bed and then we put him in bed with us since I was getting up in 30 minutes any way.
We lowered his bed again, and this time we lowered it as far down as it can go.  He is able to stand up in it and that scares me to death.
He has become a bit fussy lately, his nick name has gone from Booger Man to Fuss Pot.  I am not sure if it is the day care switch (missing Mrs. Bradley) or if it is just a stage he is going through, but he is rotten.  I asked day care if he is good and sleeps well and he does great.  So......  I think he knows he can get away with more with us.  We'll have to work on that, but it is hard when he is so darn cute!
He still has not said mama, but we work on that daily.
He is back to hating his diaper changed like when he was a new born, but this time it is not because he is cold, it's because he is too busy.  He does not have time to stop for a diaper change.  He has to be moving.  Of course the only thing he stops for is food.

9 months have flown by and I am sure the next 9 will go by just at fast.  He is such a blessing and I thank God for him every day!

Video Tuesday

Jackson is crawling ALL over the place and has started pulling up.  When we got home yesterday he crawled over to his chair and started climbing it.  I ran to get the camera and missed the first part of it, but you get the idea.  I also had to get Knox out of his eye line because he was too worried about what Knox was doing to keep climbing.  He eventually climbed all the way in it and sat down.  He is getting so big!

Wedding Weekend in God's Country

This was from the bridesmaid luncheon!  It was just beautiful!  Everything all weekend was amazing; from the weather to all of the parties.  Lauren must have been praying for this weather on her wedding weekend all her life!!
At The Burgundy Room on the balcony!

The bride with all her Phi Mu's!!  Picture a girl.....
At the reception!!  Matt rocked the bow tie all weekend!
I would love to know what they were talking about.  There is no telling with Rex!
The moms!!  It is so great to know our moms are such good friends!!
B-Bear and Addison!
The fam minus J-Man.  He was with his Gran and Paw since it was past his bedtime!
Mine and Lauren's parents.  So many good times together!  I LOVE them!!

Lauren was the most beautiful bride!!  Like I said, everything was amazing!

Fratty Friday on Monday

Sorry Fratty Friday Peeps for the delay in pictures, but my camera was not downloading them and we had to be in Oxford by 11:00.  That is also the reason the pictures have a sunlight blur on them, I was in too big of a hurry to notice.  In honor of our trip to God's Country Jackson is wearing his super fratty Ole Miss polo with jeans and grey new balances.  He was so stinking cute.
Once we made it to Oxford Matt, Jackson, and Tony (Meghan's BF) went to Handy Andy to eat while the girls went to the bridedmaid luncheon.  Everyone had a blast!  I will post pictures of the fabulous weekend soon!

Allergies and Ear Infections and Congestion Oh My!

He may look just like his dad, but as I have said before he has my blue eyes and now we know for sure he has my sensitive skin.  Bless his heart!!!  Since starting his new day care his face has started to breakout every day and then clear up at night.  They use the same detergent we do so I am not sure what he is getting into to.  Yesterday they called because his right eye was swollen and he had a low fever.  By the time I got there they said his eye had gone down and the fever had gone away.  I took him on to the doctor even though I knew they would not be able to do anything about it (this is not my first rodeo with eye swelling allergies).  We ALSO found out while at the doctor's office he has an eye infection too.  AHHHH!!  So one allergy medicine, a decongestant, and an antibiotic later hopefully he will be on the mend soon.

Do not be alarmed - those are carrots around his mouth, not some freakishly scary rash.  The rash is on his cheeks.
It was just the two of us last night because Matt was on call.  Needless to say the J-Man and I cuddled up in my bed to sleep last night.  Between being home alone with an under the weather little man and having to pack to go out of town I thought I'd never get it all done, but I did and cannot wait for this weekend!!
What is better than going to Oxford in the spring?  Meeting all your best friends from college there and celebrating a marriage!  I am beside myself with excitement.  I will be making two airport runs today to pick up Megs and Geesh.  I am like a kid at Christmas!

Keeping It Real Wednesday

Our Fratty Friday photo shoots are not always so glamours! This is my personal favorite. I call this "I'm going to bite you if you take another picture of me!" Even still I am pretty sure he is the cutest kid ever!

And lastly - what our living room currently looks like.
The Ole Miss blanket over the coffee table is there to deter Jackson from getting on the pups' bed. It only works half of the time.

Happy Hump Day!

New Day Care and New Foods

I am really mad at myself for not taking any pictures this last week while Jackson's Gran and Paw, Munchkin, and She-She came to keep him. Jackson was between day cares last week and so our family came in to help! I don't know what we would do without our wonderful family! But of course I have NO pictures! AHH! I do however have a ROTTEN child on my hands now. Matt said he felt bad for the people at his new day care. So about his new day care - we really really love Mrs. Bradley that kept him at the other day care, but we fell like the new day care will be a better fit for our busy lifestyle. I have been pretty stressed about leaving Mrs. Bradley, but Matt and I turned it over to God and feel like we are doing the right thing. It is foreign to me how emotional (by emotional I mean crying) I have become about this child and my poor husband is not sure how to handle it either.
So about the new foods - Jackson has now tried cheese, catfish, whole green beans, and mac and cheese! And before I get an ugly phone call from Aunt Meghan, I only gave him the fish part of the fried catfish, no crust! He loves ALL of it, of course. He did have a little trouble chewing up the green beans, but seemed to like them.

All of these pictures are of him eating cheese and I wish I had pictures of him eating the fish. We went out to a 'rural' fish house called Jerry's Friday night to eat and that is where he had fish for the first time. He had the best time looking at everyone and was too busy to really eat much.

It's hard work picking up those little pieces of cheese.
Lastly this is the J-man hanging out with Petey the pacy while Matt and I got ready for church. He just finished his juice and was a sleepy head.
Happy Monday!

Fratty Friday

Happy Friday everyone! Jackson is really excited that it is spring and that means OLE MISS BASEBALL!! He is sporting his baseball ready attire (with a little spit-up on the shoulder) and can't wait to get to Swayze Field!!

He was all ready to go, but then I told him it was suppose to rain and the games might be canceled this weekend. This was his reaction...... "What you talkin bout Mama?"

I wish we really were going to Oxford! But we are headed to Oxford next weekend for Lauren's wedding!!!! Man, I cannot wait!!
