Eat Drink and Be Married

We had a shower Saturday night for some friends of ours Barry and Macey that are getting married in March. Matt is in school with Macey and I work with Barry. Between the two we can't escape them!! We had a blast! We always have such a good time when we get together.
From left to right; me, Mubina, Macey (the bride to be), Laura (who just got engaged to Matt [funny huh]), and Hayes. They are all in Matt's class and super sweet on top of being super smart!
Here is the spread - and yes I moved the chairs and picked up the toothpicks for the party. I hate I didn't get any more pictures, but did you expect any different?

Fratty Friday

Jackson was too busy for a photo shoot this morning. There were dogs to look at, chairs to jump out of, and squirrels on the back porch that were funny! Like in this picture - Elle was doing something that caught Jackson's attention!Or this picture where the squirrel on the back porch was hysterical!
Or here where he thought it would be a good idea to lunge forward and jump out of the chair. It's a good action shot, but even better would have been the action shot of me dropping the camera to catch him!! This kid!! He may not be crawling, but he gets where he needs to go.
Thanks for the Fratty outfit Aunt Teresa!! Happy Friday!

Jackson's First Swimming Lessons

We went to Jackson's first swimming lessons yesterday and it was SO much fun. All day long I felt like a kid at Christmas and could not wait to go. I had to really try hard to focus at work! We have tons of video, but this is one of the best because you can see his little face.

Swimming Lessons

He even go to go down the slide!!!! Watch him kick his little legs when he's in the water!

Keeping It Real Wednesday

Not much going on around here! I will have major updates tomorrow though. Jackson's Munchkin is keeping him today and then we are going to his first swimming lesson tonight! We left him sitting up, but when we turned around he had fallen back. Hence the reason the boppy was behind him, but he didn't make a peep. Just went right on playing!

Fratty Friday

Ok - so I don't want to hurt any one's feelings or be one of 'those' moms, but I have the cutest kid! I could just eat him up!! Today he is sporting his Carhartt onesie that says "Farm Raised" and his John Deere boots! I know he is not really farm raised, more like neighborhood raised, but we can dream can't we? Maybe one day we will get to live in the country some where on a dog farm, but suburbia will do for now. So back to my cute kid - he is such a mess. After I got him dressed we were walking into the den for his photo shoot and he was so excited! He makes this yelling noise and throws his hands around when he gets excited. It is so stinking cute!He LOVES his boots as you can tell!
And this picture is just too cute. He's playing it cool!
Finally Friday free again. Got my motor running for a wild weekend! It's finally Friday out of control, forget the working blues and let the good times roll!!!!!!!!

Keeping It Real Wednesday

This last weekend I had a girls trip while Matt stayed home with the little man. I headed to Biloxi to the Beau Rivage for Lauren's bachelorette party while Matt hung out with J Man! I know Matt loved spending time with Jackson and I cannot remember when I have had that much fun!!

I won big while.......

Matt gave Jackson a breathing treatment.

that he fell asleep duringWe danced the night away while....

Matt and Jackson slept!

I came home to a clean house, clean baby, and worn out husband! He said he didn't know how I ever got anything done. :) I simply explained that God performs a miracle at our house every day in order for everything to get done!!

Happy Wednesday!

7 Months Old

Jackson is 7 months old!! He is closer to a year old than he is to a new born and this makes me sad.
What is he up to?
He has his own little personality and knows how to get what he wants.
He cries when you leave him alone in a room.
He can sit up on his own most of the time. He falls over some, but is pretty stable.
He loves Elle and Knox. He watches every move they make.
He puts everything in his mouth.
He has 2 bottom teeth.
He is not crawling yet, but he will scoot from side to side.
He LOVES his Jeep walker and goes all over the kitchen in it. We can sit him in it with a mum-mum and he's content forever.
Did I mention he puts everything in his mouth?
He is still the happiest baby ever and everyone comments on it.
He is still the cutest baby ever and everyone comments on it.
He drinks about 30 ounces of milk over 5 feedings a day and eats baby food 3 times a day. We have also started giving him 4 ounces of apple juice a day, but he is not a huge fan.
He can drink out of a sippy cup, but we are still working on him holding it.
His solid food options include; bananas, sweet potatoes, apples, pears, carrots, butter nut squash, green peas (he likes them now), cereal with milk, and mum-mums
He wears a size 2-3 diaper
His clothes range in size from 3-6 months to 6 to 12 months.
He weights 17 pounds and is in the 75th percentile for height.
He falls asleep in the car every time he is in it!
He was sleeping 10 to 12 hours a night, but started cutting teeth and then got a cold. I am hoping once he feels better he will start to sleep better again.
He is the most loved kid in the world!

I am sure I am forgetting something, but I can come back and add it later. He is such a sweet baby and I could just eat him up.

It's an extra special Fratty Friday! Jackson's Aunt Meghan and Aunt Lisha are here! They came into town for Lauren's bachelorette party this weekend.
Yup - those are grey New Balances!!
So handsome!!!!
Everyone please pray for Matt. He is keeping Jackson by himself while I go out of town! But I know he'll do great!!
Happy Friday!

Keeping it Real Wednesday

My mom is going to kill me for this, but I hate cold weather and I don't have a lot of extra time, so unfortunately this is a picture of our back patio. A dead fern and our Christmas tree stand. Yes, I am aware that shows laziness and yes I am aware that if Betty Crocker walked on our back patio today I would get a F, but going outside at night when I get home from work to do something about this is not a top priority. I'll bet you money my mom will be down here within days to clean it up when she sees this, but I am just keeping it real people!! In other more put together news - nothing says working from home like this picture...... Computer, coffee, and apple juice in a bottle! Jackson's day care was closed on Monday due to the weather (that was not that bad down here) so I had to stay at home with him! He was great and let me get a good bit of work done! He was just happy to be home with his mommy! And if you are thinking he sure is in his walker a lot, that is because he is in his walker all the time. He loves it and follows us from room to room watching our every move!Matt got home later that afternoon and hung out with J man while I finished doing some work. I really just wanted to crawl in bed with them and take a nap, but I figured it was best that I stay employed! That night we went over to some friends' house to watch the national championship game! Even though the game started after J man's bed time he stayed up and hung out with us and his buddy John! John is two months younger and his dad is in Matt's medical school class. They were so cute together! At one point Jackson even hugged him!! And as you can tell by this picture they both look like their fathers!!

You will also notice that Matt is wearing an orange shirt for Auburn! War Eagle!!!! 5 in a row for the SEC!!
Happy Wednesday! Keep it real out there people!

Photo Shoot

Katie Rose took all these pictures over Thanksgiving and I never posted them since I used one for our Christmas card and I wanted to keep them under wraps until I sent our card out. Between Katie's ability and the most adorable kid ever they are AMAZING pics! His eyes are so blue and it makes me so happy because it is the only thing I can lay claim to on the child. The rest of him is Matt all the way.
Look at that face!

He has a small head like ours :)
And this was our Christmas card picture.
LOVE IT!

Wanting to Crawl

I hate to trump Fratty Friday, but last night was not a normal night. Jackson was playing on his pallet being adorable as usual so I decided to do a little photo shoot. As I was snapping he started to move and move some more.,,,,,
and some more and before I knew it he was scooting around. Matt had run to pick up a pizza for us and was missing it. I told Jackson to wait right there while I got the video camera! And this is what I captured......

He started by rolling off his pallet and onto the wood floor. He has done this before, but this time he started moving from side to side without rolling. He moves himself around with his hands and legs. It's more of a scoot, but he is figuring it all out. I cannot believe it! He is going to fast for this mama!
Happy Friday!

Fratty Friday

It's the first Fratty Friday of the year and Jackson is excited!! The picture above is his super cheesing he has started lately. Jackson got a LOT of fratty outfits at Christmas! You saw these overalls on Christmas day, but they are my absolute favorite! Thanks SheShe! Jackson is dressed and ready for Hayseed! Now if only we could find him a baby John Deere cap!

Mum-Mum

Since J-man is teething AND he is obsessed with eating so we found something he is in LOVE with! Baby Mum-Mums. They come in several different flavors and are made for babies and another kind for toddlers teething. The dissolve quickly so there is less of a chance of choking and he LOVES them! They are great to give him too when it is still about an hour or so before he eats, but still seems hungry! I would highly recommend them! Please notice the socks coming off his feet in the background :)
Mmmmm good! He eats on them, but he gets more on him than he does in his mouth.

Keeping It Real Wednesday

Look at this face - I would not typically post a not so great picture, but that is what "Keeping It Real Wednesday" is all about!!There are so many things I could post on this very first edition of Keeping it Real Wednesday, but I decided to go with the logistical adventures of the Garage Tent Santa brought Jackson. First, "Santa" ordered it from Pottery Barn and when it came in the polls for it were 6 feet long. I decided it would be a good idea to take in to Caledonia over Thanksgiving to save space in the sleigh when we went back at Christmas. This was one of the best ideas I ever had, but the good ideas ran out shortly there after. Not only did it free up space for other gifts on our Christmas trip home, but my parents, I mean Santa's elves put it together and we did not have to. So on to the Garage Tent logistics Part II, getting it back home to Brandon. Since there was not enough room for all of Jackson's loot on the way home from Caledonia (please note this was only stuff from my parents and 2 of the 3 sets of great grandparents), Uncle Buster had to come down and bring it. That was awful sweet of him and we thought we were in the home stretch with this over-sized boy tent when we discovered it would not fit in the doorway of our hall or Jackson's room. This lead us to Part III and over the edge! Matt proceeded to take the door off the hinges, but that didn't work so he dismantled it. We finally got it to Jackson's room and it was too big. So in the guest room it went. Along with Jackson's cradle he is now too big for, a ride on toy his She She got him, AND a swing he never really liked to be put in. So if you are coming to stay be prepared to step over baby gear in order to climb into bed!! And when you finally make it in bed pray the ceiling does not collapse on you from all of the CRAP we have had to put in the attic!!!

Happy Hump Day

Big Boy News

Even more news on the big boy front - Jackson is teething and I had to dip into the frozen milk this morning because I am not keeping up with him. I am glad he is growing healthy and strong, but it makes me sad that my baby is growing up.
Matt and I noticed on Saturday that Jackson was not himself. He was not fussy, but he was just not as happy as he usually is. Then on Sunday night he pitched a FIT when we tried to put him to bed. Even food would not console him and that is a FIRST for this chubster. Then about 11:30 he woke up screaming again and could not be consoled. He finally wore himself out and fell back asleep after an hour or screaming.
When I picked him up from day care yesterday, Mrs. Bradley said we might not want to keep him out of day care that long again because he was rotten. HA HA! He was bad, he screamed for her too. Then last night he woke up 3 times. He wasn't as angry, but it is not like him to wake up like that. So when I ran my finger across his gums this morning and sure enough there was a little sharp tooth poking through his bottom gum. My poor little guy. Then to top all that off I had to dip into frozen milk to send to day care. It's just another step towards being a big boy. Although I have a deep freezer full of milk that can last him until he's 12 months old or longer!!

Sitting Up Like a Big Boy

Jackson is trying so hard to sit up like a big boy! He has the hang of it until he laughs or moves his head one way or another then he topples over. We'll get there. Here is a picture diary of what it usually looks like.
I'm up
Wait.... I'm a little wobbly
Hang on.... I'm getting it
Yah!!!!! I stayed up
Oh wait. I didn't!
