It's the end of finals week and this little guy has had enough! The stress of procrastinating and staying up studying for finals all week long has him at his breaking point. He's ready to come home and see his mama. :)
In real life he has turned into a little sleeper and God forbid you wake him up before he is ready to get out of bed. This is the aftermath of a sleepy J-Man.After telling him to smile for Mrs. Karen this is what we got. He wiped his eyes and gave it his best shot.
"Cheese" he said.
Then we went back to this.
By the time we got in the car he was doing much better. And we listened to Christmas music and talked. I was really nice. He didn't even ask to watch a DVD. It was like old times and I just enjoyed my J-Man.
He liked Rudolph the Red Nosed Rain Deer, but informed me he did "not like this song" when referring to Bing Crosby's White Christmas. He did however LOVE and dance to the Band Aid Christmas song "Do They Know It's Christmas?" It's the real 80's sounding song. He LOVED it! So no to Bing Crosby and yes to the 80's. Maybe he really is an Ole Miss student.
And for my record keeping purposes I have to discuss his tonsils coming out. One of the reasons we think he sleeps so much is because he is not sleeping well when he does sleep. Apparently he has the largest tonsils his ENT has ever seen on a 2 year old. They are big, so big in fact that the doctor asked us how he swallowed food. Good question, that may be the reason he prefers milk to food.
They obstruct his airway when he lays down and he has problems breathing. We (including his doctor) believe it is causing him to have sleep apnea. He struggles to breath and then has to move and cough to start breathing again in his sleep. Weird huh? The doctor even told us his voice would change. I am glad he will be better, but his voice is all I know. I am not sure how I will handle that. But my little dude will be better and that's all that matters. So on December 28 he is having his tonsils and adenoids taken out and tubes put back in. The tubes and adenoids aren't that big a deal, but the tonsils require a 10 day recovery and an overnight stay in the hospital. Thank goodness for Gaga and Sheshe! So say a little prayer for him It will be rough, but make him feel do much better in the end.
Happy Friday everyone! Have a great weekend!
